Rara lake Trek of Nepal : 

Rara National Park, Nepal’s smallest and most scenic national park that spreads over an area of 106 square kilometer, is situated about 370 kilometers north- west of Kathmandu and lies in Mugu, a mountainous district of the western region of Nepal. The undisturbed and the largest lake in Nepal is also renowned as Mahendra Tal.

The National Park ascends from 1800 m to 4480 m forested by conifers. The pivotal of Rara National Park is the pristine Rara Lake, which stands at the height of 2990 m. and spreads over 10.8 square kilometers.

Chuchemara Dauda at the elevation of 4087meters is the best vantage point to get the magnificent views of the deep blue clear lake and highly forested hillside as well as the snow-capped peaks around it. The clear, high altitude lake of Rara mirrors the snow capped Himalayas which is ringed with pine, spruce and juniper forest.

More than 500 different kinds of flowers and herbs including Rhododendrons, Black Juniper, Oak, West Himalayan Spruce and Himalayan Cypress are found in this park. It is home to 20 different species of mammals and 214 species of birds.

During winters you will be able to witness the migratory birds from various regions around the world and during summers the Himalayan flowers surround the lake creating a vibrant landscape.

Day 01: Kathmandu

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport.
Check into a Hotel.
Trip Briefing

Day 02: Kathmandu - Fly Nepalgunj - B

Breakfast at the hotel.
After breakfast, visit Pashupatinath temple which is one of the most sacred Hindu shrine in the World along with the holy river Bagmati and the burning ghats.
Visit one of the oldest and biggest stupa of Boudhanath.
After lunch, drive to the airport to catch a flight to Nepalgunj.

Day 03: Nepalgunj – Talcha Airport, Near Rara Mugu - B/L/D

Drive to the airport to catch a flight to Talcha.
Arrive at Talcha.
Hike (trek) to Rara National Park.
Day 4 Explore Rara Lake
Boating in Rara Lake for (1) one hour.
Camp out for the night.

Day 04: Rara Exploration Day - B/L/D

Explore Rara lake and the surrounding area for the whole day. Be with the nature for the day.

Day 05: Rara – Nepalgunj – Kathmandu - B/D

Hike from Rara Talcha Airport.
Fly to Nepalgunj and then get a connecting flight to Kathmandu.
Arrive in Kathmandu.
Check into a hotel.
Visit Patan also referred to as Lalitpur.

Day 06: DEPARTURE - B

Transfer to airport for final departure. End of services

Trekking in Nepal Himalaya involves many days of walking. To experience the hill country, you should allow yourself at least 2 weeks. Unless you have a month or more at your disposal, you’ll probably manage only one trek during your visit. In any event, you’ll want to spend a few days in Kathmandu and possibly visit Pokhara and a jungle lodge in Chitwan while you are in Nepal. The real trek in Nepal lasts three weeks at least. It is my heartiest opinion. History of Money Excavations in Tilaurkot during the period of 1967-1976, revealed that the earliest coins recorded in Nepal are ‘kushan’, ‘kaniksha’ and ‘havisha’ coins (1st century) and the ‘punch marked’ coins (6th and 5th century B.C.). King Mandeva’s rule in the 5th century gave birth to the Licchavi coins. It was during the Malla period that more systemization was brought in monetary terms. Coins were then issued in denominations of 2 mohur (equivalent to one rupee), 1 mohur (50 paisa), one and a half sukka (36 paisa), sukka (25 paisa), sukki, or ‘tinnani’, (12 paisa), anni (6 paisa), adhani (3 paisa), paisa (1 paisa), and dam (1/4 paisa). In 1545, Dolkha King Indrasinga Deva minted the first silver coins with the rupee coin weighing in at 11.6 gm (1 tola). Our money saving tip: Buy an air pressure gauge if you plan on doing any cycling while you are here in Nepal. People tend to get a lot of flat tires and I believe I‘ve discovered the reason. People, even some mechanics, do not have an air pressure gauge so the tire is fine when they fix it, but after the person drives a while the air gets hot and expands. Driving on over inflated tires is not good, especially when the roads are filled with pot-holes and rocks; it’s a flat tire waiting to happen.  My suggestion is to have an air pressure gauge and keep the tires inflated properly. Even if you are taking a motorcycle or scooter it’ a good idea.
