Dudh Kunda is a lake, situated at the front of Number Himal, locally known as Milky Pond of Solu. It is one of the best destination places in Everest region. Dudh Kunda lake trekking is located in the low region of Everest trekking or Solu region. In every August there is an influx of devotees of Hindus and Buddhist who come to perform cleansing ritual at the lake. Dudh kunda situated in the lap of Mt. Numbur literally means lake of milk and is said to be a sacred lake and is venerated by the local people. You will enjoy panoramic Himalayan views of Everest, Mt. Number, and other Everest Himalaya range. The region of Dudh Kunda trekking gets fewer tourists making it a refreshing and peaceful place to trek where you will be overawed by the locals, the natural beauty of the area and the stunning mountain scenery. Dudh Kunda is a cultural and nature lover trek in Nepal.

The trail to Dudh kunda trekking starts at Jiri on the route to Shivalaya following a spectacular, isolated ridge through dense forest and rocky and yak grazing pastures. The area is quite remote and you are unlikely to meet anyone on this rarely traveled trail. Dudh Kunda trekking trail takes you through dense forests of rhododendron, a variety of wild animals & birds such as Mountain Thars, Bears, Leopard, Jackal  etc. From Sasarbeni, we move towards Dudh kunda. While at the lake, take a walk right around its shore and look for the spring, high up on the Northeastern side, considered to be the source of the holy water. Amazing and beautiful views of flora and fauna, experience and interaction with diverse cultures of Sherpa, Khaling, Rai, Tamangs, Magar, Gurungs, make this journey a lifetime experience and achievement. Trekking in Nepal Himalaya involves many days of walking. To experience the hill country, you should allow yourself at least 2 weeks. Unless you have a month or more at your disposal, you’ll probably manage only one trek during your visit. History of Money Excavations in Tilaurkot during the period of 1967-1976, revealed that the earliest coins recorded in Nepal are ‘kushan’, ‘kaniksha’ and ‘havisha’ coins (1st century) and the ‘punch marked’ coins (6th and 5th century B.C.). King Mandeva’s rule in the 5th century gave birth to the Licchavi coins. It was during the Malla period that more systemization was brought in monetary terms. Our money saving tip: Buy an air pressure gauge if you plan on doing any cycling while you are here in Nepal. People tend to get a lot of flat tires and I believe I‘ve discovered the reason. People, even some mechanics, do not have an air pressure gauge so the tire is fine when they fix it, but after the person drives a while the air gets hot and expands. Driving on over inflated tires is not good, especially when the roads are filled with pot-holes and rocks; it’s a flat tire waiting to happen.  My suggestion is to have an air pressure gauge and keep the tires inflated properly. Even if you are taking a motorcycle or scooter it’ a good idea.
